Michael Persichilli

Michael Persichilli joined Modern in 2019 as Director of Sales and Marketing for Machining and Heat Treating.
Michael Persichilli is an accomplished Executive with more than 25 years of experience, the majority directly responsible for developing and leading successful sales and marketing teams.
A self-described “recovering engineer”, Michael’s background with companies providing manufactured product and services has allowed him to provide technical and commercial support to customers, contractors, suppliers and strategic partners covering many industries.
His broad areas of expertise include engineering & product development, proposal development, sales & marketing, contract negotiation, project management, process improvement, operations management, government relations, and compliance.
Michael has a Bachelor of Engineering in Marine (Mechanical) Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College, where he also obtained a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine Operating Engineer License.
He subsequently served in the U.S. Navy Reserve, earning an honorable discharge as Lieutenant.
In his free time, Michael enjoys giving back to the community. He volunteers with the American Red Cross Disaster Team, and has served on the School Board, where he was instrumental in navigating the district out of a Fiscal Emergency.

Dave Jacquel
Human Resources Manager
Dave Jacquel joined Modern in 1994 as an Industrial Engineer in the Machining Division. He has over 25 years of manufacturing experience including time as a Manufacturing Engineer, Supplier Quality Assurance Manager, Engineering Manager, and Coordinator of Employee Development and Training. He was appointed to the position of Human Resources Manager in 2011 where his responsibility extends to all aspects of human resource acquisition, training and development of operations and management personnel across all four Modern divisions.
Dave earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Penn State University.

Kevin Polito
General Manager - Modern Testing Laboratories - Southwest
Kevin Polito was appointed as General Manager of the Materials Research Division - in 2004. In 2017 Kevin was asked to set-up and run Modern Testing Laboratories - Southwest! This is our most recent expansion location and is located in Fort Worth, Texas. Kevin's responsibilities include managing the materials testing in the areas of chemistry, metallography, destructive and non-destructive testing, failure analysis, and environmental testing.
Kevin joined Modern in 1998 as a Quality Assurance Technician and progressed through a variety of quality and research engineering positions. He came to Modern with a technical background and certification in Aviation Structures and Flight Controls from the US Marine Corps. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Penn State University, Behrend. Kevin currently serves on Penn State Behrend's Mechanical Engineering Technology Advisory Board.

David Sweny
Corporate Vice President; General Manager, Products Division
Dave Sweny has over 35 years of experience at Modern in operations, maintenance, engineering, and management. As Corporate Vice President, he directs the activities of the Facilities Maintenance and Engineering Departments. David also oversees manufacturing operations of the Modern Products Division as General Manager of the division.
David earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from Niagara University in Buffalo, NY.

Dennis Sweny
Co-President
Dennis Sweny is one of two Co-Presidents at Modern, serving in the position since 2001 with the responsibility of overseeing the Machining and Heat Treat Divisions.
Dennis joined Modern in 1980 as a Quality Assurance Engineer and subsequently progressed through a variety of quality, manufacturing, engineering, and management positions. Prior to his appointment as Co-President, Dennis served as General Manager of Modern's Heat Treat Division, beginning in 1990. During his tenure, he led the development and implementation of Modern's new state-of-the-art, networked controls for the heat treating processes, including electronic capture of process parameter data.
Dennis received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Youngstown State University.

Tim Sweny was appointed Co-President at Modern in 2001. His major responsibility extends to overseeing the Materials Research and Products Divisions.
