Michael Persichilli

Director of Sales and Marketing for Machining and Heat Treating

Michael Persichilli joined Modern in 2019 as Director of Sales and Marketing for Machining and Heat Treating.

Michael Persichilli is an accomplished Executive with more than 25 years of experience, the majority directly responsible for developing and leading successful sales and marketing teams.
A self-described “recovering engineer”, Michael’s background with companies providing manufactured product and services has allowed him to provide technical and commercial support to customers, contractors, suppliers and strategic partners covering many industries.

His broad areas of expertise include engineering & product development, proposal development, sales & marketing, contract negotiation, project management, process improvement, operations management, government relations, and compliance.

Michael has a Bachelor of Engineering in Marine (Mechanical) Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College, where he also obtained a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine Operating Engineer License.

He subsequently served in the U.S. Navy Reserve, earning an honorable discharge as Lieutenant.

In his free time, Michael enjoys giving back to the community. He volunteers with the American Red Cross Disaster Team, and has served on the School Board, where he was instrumental in navigating the district out of a Fiscal Emergency.

Marcelino Rodriguez

Chief Financial Officer

Marcelino has over thirty years of business management and executive leadership experience with various service and manufacturing based companies. Prior to Modern Industries, he was the CFO for American Zinc Recycling, Inc. He also served as CFO for KMG Chemicals, Inc., the Paul Mueller Company, and Lhoist North America. He also served as the Controller for the operations division of RG Barry Corporation, and Controller for Jose Cuervo International.

Marcelino holds an M.B.A., from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, and attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he graduated with a B.B.A., degree in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas and Missouri. He also holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant designation. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and served on the Advisory Board of the School of Accountancy at Missouri State University. He is also a member of Financial Executives International(FEI).

Dave Jacquel

Human Resources Manager

Dave Jacquel joined Modern in 1994 as an Industrial Engineer in the Machining Division.  He has over 25 years of manufacturing experience including time as a Manufacturing Engineer, Supplier Quality Assurance Manager, Engineering Manager, and Coordinator of Employee Development and Training.  He was appointed to the position of Human Resources Manager in 2011 where his responsibility extends to all aspects of human resource acquisition, training and development of operations and management personnel across all four Modern divisions.

Dave earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Penn State University.

Bryan Jageman

General Manager - Heat Treat Division

Bryan Jageman joined Modern in 2011 as the General Manager of the Heat Treat Division.  Mr. Jageman has overall responsibility for manufacturing operations at both of Modern's heat treating locations at Erie, Pa and Kersey, Pa.

Brian brought to Modern over twenty years in the heat treating industry with a background in operations, sales, and management.  He earned a degree in management from Butler State College.
Kevin Polito portrait

Kevin Polito

General Manager - Modern Testing Laboratories - Southwest

Kevin Polito was appointed as General Manager of the Materials Research Division - in 2004.  In 2017 Kevin was asked to set-up and run Modern Testing Laboratories - Southwest! This is our most recent expansion location and is located in Fort Worth, Texas. Kevin's responsibilities include managing the materials testing in the areas of chemistry, metallography, destructive and non-destructive testing, failure analysis, and environmental testing.

Kevin joined Modern in 1998 as a Quality Assurance Technician and progressed through a variety of quality and research engineering positions.  He came to Modern with a technical background and certification in Aviation Structures and Flight Controls from the US Marine Corps.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Penn State University, Behrend.  Kevin currently serves on Penn State Behrend's Mechanical Engineering Technology Advisory Board.

Alan Reppert

Sales Manager - Materials Research and Products Divisions

Alan Reppert started at Modern Industries in 2006 as the Corporate Sales Manager of the Materials Research and Products divisions.  Alan's main responsibilities include representing Modern at trade show's and customer demonstrations, assisting in all marketing and product advertising activities, building strong relationships with Modern's customer-base, hosting customer tours at the corporate office, and managing Modern's inside sales team and outside sales rep agencies.

Alan has 33 years of experience in industrial sales management, raw material purchasing, and product management.  His experience includes coordinating inventory with production demands, sourcing raw materials, supply chain management and development, proposal and project management, customer service and contract development.

Alan has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Gannon University and a Masters of Business Administration from Sacred Heart University.
David Sweny portrait

David Sweny

Corporate Vice President; General Manager, Products Division

Dave Sweny has over 35 years of experience at Modern in operations, maintenance, engineering, and management.  As Corporate Vice President, he directs the activities of the Facilities Maintenance and Engineering Departments.  David also oversees manufacturing operations of the Modern Products Division as General Manager of the division.

David earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from Niagara University in Buffalo, NY.

Dennis Sweny


Dennis Sweny is one of two Co-Presidents at Modern, serving in the position since 2001 with the responsibility of overseeing the Machining and Heat Treat Divisions.

Dennis joined Modern in 1980 as a Quality Assurance Engineer and subsequently progressed through a variety of quality, manufacturing, engineering, and management positions.  Prior to his appointment as Co-President, Dennis served as General Manager of Modern's Heat Treat Division, beginning in 1990.  During his tenure, he led the development and implementation of Modern's new state-of-the-art, networked controls for the heat treating processes, including electronic capture of process parameter data.

Dennis received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Youngstown State University.

Tim Sweny portrait

Tim Sweny


Tim Sweny was appointed Co-President at Modern in 2001.  His major responsibility extends to overseeing the Materials Research and Products Divisions.

Tim joined Modern in 1986 as a Sales Engineer.  The following year he established Modern's Materials Research Division, which has grown to three sites in Pa, supporting over 800 customers in addition to Modern's other divisions.  Tim has led the expansion efforts for Modern's Products Division beginning in 2005 with the addition of the mPower line of their manufactured workholding devices.

Tim graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy from Penn State University.
